The site where Aylesbury Wine Bar & Tasting Room stands has served the Walworth community for decades. Once a family-run greengrocer called Simpsons, now a gathering place where neighbours meet, makers are celebrated, and good things happen slowly. We now celebrates the same values — quality, freshness, and connection. Co-founded by local boy Andrew Kolapo, Aylesbury is rooted in the neighbourhood and informed by over twenty-five years of hospitality and finance experience, dedicated to honest food, creative drinks, and genuine service.
We believe in the long conversation over a bottle, the handshake that turns into a friendship, and the small details that make people feel seen. Our philosophy is simple: hospitality without pretence.
You’ll taste it in our menus, feel it in our welcome, and see it in how we work with local makers and producers. We train, we listen, and sometimes we advise — whether that’s helping another small venue shape its menu, designing a profitable pop-up model, or offering financial guidance to fellow operators.
